This course focuses on the applications and software development of GIS, it introduces the component-based software development method which can be used by students to create practical GIS applications in a short time. A profoundly understanding of the basic concepts and theories of geographic information systems software development and design of this course will enable students to grasp the characteristics of geographic information systems design, methods, processes and technology and make them masters in this field. More details, this course will teach them to design their own customized application of geographic information systems using ArcGIS Engine Geographic Information secondary development kit based on Microsoft’s .Net platform.
